On Saturday, June 30th, 2018, Reading Terminal Market hosted ‘The Philly Ice Cream Scoop’, America’s largest ice cream festival. The Philly Ice Cream Scoop was free to attend and brought together local independent ice cream artisans and Reading Terminal merchants. Market-goers got the chance to experience ice cream specials, demonstrations, contests, games, and arts and crafts.

This year’s event brought together fourteen ice cream purveyors from across the Philadelphia including Bassetts Ice Cream, Franklin Fountain, Capogiro, Weckerly’s, Little Baby’s Ice Cream, and many more. The various ice cream specials from RTM merchants included affogato, spiked rootbeer floats, milkshakes, warm apple dumplings with ice cream, and much more.

This year’s Philly Ice Cream Scoop was hosted as a part of the Wawa Welcome America celebration.
